Christos Govas graduated from Concordia University and obtained his CA designation in 2004. He has been with MLSG LLP since 2001 and has played a key role in the successful growth of the firm. His diverse knowledge in assurance, accounting, taxation and business consulting, as well as his invaluable approach towards servicing entrepreneurs and their businesses earned him a partnership interest in 2008. Christos is currently pursuing a specialization in taxation.
Professional Experience
- Director of audit, review and compilation services for small or medium enterprises as well as non-profit and charitable organizations, using a value-added approach;
- Cross-border tax planning for individuals (specializing in professional athletes and artists) and the management of their compliance obligations;
- Post mortem and estate tax planning, including assistance in the administration of estates until final clearance and distributions;
- Assisting clients with income tax audits and representing them in the opposition stage in collaboration with tax lawyers when needed;
- Advising entrepreneurs or their accounting department on cash flow management, including working capital and equipment financing, establishing strategic and financial objectives, budgeting, accounting, inventory costing, etc.;
- Consulting on a wide range of tax and business issues for corporations, individuals, trusts and partnerships within a Canadian or foreign context;
